There didn’t seem to be another path for me
Except taking my living from the trees
Its what my daddy done when I was young
I always knew the my day would come
The bank took me in just like a son
You know they like to get you started young
But The Markets up the markets down
The mill’s paying top dollar then they’re starving us out

Its the the morning air, the scent of pine

On mother Nature we do depend
Though some some would say we aint exactly friends
Cause we cut a lot, We cut it all
But were just doing whats allowed by law
The mill needs wood and the bank needs paid
So we fire the diesels in their name

When I see that tree falling his way
Things got hard and Jim lost it all
When the mill screwed screw up you know he took the fall
But the bank’s been good and I double down
